Smriti Seth – Co-Founder & Design Director
Hello and Welcome to Your Story, a place where we translate individual’s stories into dream homes
or work spaces with our aesthetically creative interior design solutions.
So, before I get into painting Your Story, here’s a bit about my story.
I’m Smriti, a story teller, who depicts stories in form of art & design, mainly Interior
Design.
A born and bred Mumbaikar, I completely resonate with the city’s belief of making the Impossible;Possible. As a tween, I enjoyed art in every form with me amateurishly doodling my dreams over a notebook. Stepping into my teens with an ambition to excel academically, what grew within me was my Passion for Art that further led me to pursue a professional Interior Design Degree from L.S.Raheja College, Mumbai along with my B.Com honors from HR College of Economics & Commerce, Mumbai University.
Armed with two distinct degrees, at the very break of
this millennium I stepped into the world of designing making my foray in the industry with
some of the top-notch Interior Design firms. Having garnered an enriched experience, I
further leveraged my skills by independently designing and executing various projects
residential and commercial premises.
Each story has various chapters, mine unfolded a new chapter with an overseas
opportunity to International Shores where design had Luxury as part of its DNA. In 2005 I
set foot into Dubai – the hub of Luxury and Lifestyle as a Senior Design Consultant at
Western Furniture.
Yet again, there was a new chapter in my life that journeyed into Motherhood and a Home
Maker as part of a very brief sabbatical. But, as a woman driven by her dreams, I didn’t let
my passion take a backseat and the multitasker in me balanced both parts of life at a
personal and professional level. Being on a full-time job was no more a part of my story,
but conceptualising and creating canvases for dream homes and spaces drove me to
independently taking up projects. From residential to commercial, from retail to industrial,
I was inking my professional chapter of life with my creative touch and aesthetic sense to
redefine style for revamping spaces….
…In short, rewriting Stories. And that is when I launched my own Interior Design firm in
Dubai called SS Design, which was further expanded into the Indian subcontinent.
Having moved back to my home ground half a decade ago, my passion continued to take me down
the path of an entrepreneurial Interior Designer under the name of SS Design, with a
plethora of projects done and delivered across residential, commercial and retail spaces in
Dubai, London Mumbai, Delhi & Jaipur.

Apoorva Kahale – Co-Founder & Client Director
Hello and happy to see you visit us here with your interest in us to create Your Story.
So, as you’d like to know more about the Story Tellers or shall I say Story Crafters, here’s a
bit about me.
My story started with my first cry in Bhilai with my nurturing years spent in Andra Pradesh. A
small town girl with big dreams took me onto the path of acquiring a Masters in Electronic
Engineering from the University of Kentucky. I spent a large part of my younger years pursuing
my professional stint as an Electronics Engineer in Viginia, USA.
With life taking a turn and new chapters being written as part of my story, I moved to Dubai,
UAE with my husband and son in 2013. And while being on a brief sabbatical as a home maker and a
nurturing force for my family, I took onto a journey of following my inner passion for Art &
Design.
With my home being designed by a professional Interior
Designer, I took that personal interest in partnering her as it was my story being painted
onto a canvas of my space, my home.
That very experience of making a home and then being closely associated with my
Interior designer for my husband’s office interiors, my passion grew into unfolding a new
chapter of my life. In my mid-30s, being a mother of 2 lovely kids, I went back to school
for a course in Interior Design.
And as the journey went along, today I along with my Partner Smriti are writing new chapters
across India, UAE and UK. Together, we have conceptualised, created, crafted and
successfully concluded many interior design projects across Residential, Commercial, Retail,
with a lot of our clients journeying with us for more than just one project, but having made
us their key Interior Designers along their growth journey and expansion. It is about
relationships with true partnership that got us to ink interior spaces with the right skill,
talent, dedication and timely delivery.

THE INCEPTION OF
YOUR STORY
The union of the two Story tellers -
The Story of Apoorva and Smriti coming together to form Your Story.
Apoorva’s passion for design while setting up her new home led to her taking immense interest
with an inclination of being closely involved with her Interior Designer.
And the Interior Designer was none other than Smriti herself, who was inking her creative ideas
for a perfect home to settle Apoorva and her family in an all new country along their move from
US to UAE.
They met as a Client and Interior Designer, but their story had a different chapter written for
both of them that got them to become friends, further leading that friendship into a
collaboration for their as part of their Interior Design firm called SS Design – Founded by
Smriti Seth, where Apoorva was on-boarded as a Co-Founder & Client Director.
Their journey together goes a long way into the past decade with various client’s dreams turned
into reality.
With various success stories across Residential (Apartments, Pent Houses & Villas), Commercial
(Offices & Factories), Retail (Fashion & Jewellery Stores), Hospitality (Hotel & Cafes), the two
of them are putting all chapters under one story, with SS Design now being called Your Story.

While I do personally take interest in each of my projects, by understanding the client, their persona, their ideal dream, their life and family values etc. it does lead me to building a positive bond with each client. But with Apoorva and her family, it was not just me designing their home and office, but creating a comfort zone for them in a country they were just about the set foot into for an all new life. I guess that made me a part of their life with them becoming a part of mine. And with Apoorva being a woman with a creative mind and passion for art, this client-designer relationship organically grew into friendship and a partnership in building dreams and business.
